Zentangle Art meets Mandala!

April 22nd was World Earth Day. To commemorate this, we are holding a small event at the housing society that we live in. We couldn’t celebrate it on the actual date, but the plan is to keep the event on May 1, which is a holiday in here due to Maharashtra Day/Labour Day. There are some clay tiles that have been bought to fence the little green patch that we have near our apartment. We are holding a tile painting event to beautify the place and have more involvement from the residents in maintaining the green patch.

As a part of the core team who is planning this event, I have been spending most of my time this week on it. We are expecting around 60 participants and it’s exciting and overwhelming at the same time.

Coming to this piece that I drew today, I actually started it with the intent of drawing a Mandala with greens, reds and orange (sounds like a salad lol). Also, after drawing the structure, I generally start at the center and then proceed towards the outer part. Today, for some unknown reason I felt like drawing outside first. After the first three layers, couldn’t bring myself to draw the usual center. So proceeded to use a combination of my go-to Zentangle patterns –  Knightsbridge (structure) with Tipple.

Here is it –

Hope you like it 🙂

P.S. The event on 1st May might keep me away from the blog for a few days, but I will be back soon with pictures!
