Weekend Updates

How is your weekend coming along everyone? Well, mine seems to be one of those days when things don’t go the way you planned or the way you thought it would go . Well, nothing serious but just one of those days when everything seems to be going wrong. Just a warning, this is going to be a rant.

To start with, finally this morning I sat to complete the Mandala I’ve been trying to work on for the last several days. And guess what, while giving finishing touches, I messed it up. Well, the most frustrating part is that it had turned out so well, but it still seemed incomplete to me. And kept working on it…..till it went horribly wrong.

Then to put it out of my mind, I started reading a book I had recently picked up – The Family by Mario Puzo. I am a big fan of Godfather and had high expectations from this book. My bad I neither read reviews nor asked for opinions before picking this one up. A few pages down, I start getting a headache trying to remember the million names and trying to figure out who’s who. To add to it, the story line which is full of incest disgusts me and I just put the book away. I am sure I don’t want to resume reading this one. Ever.

Then I decide to work on my blog and just click away aimlessly not sure what to do. I wrote a post, hated it and deleted it. Went through the 15 odd prompts I had listed earlier and nothing seems right. Wow! I had hit a wall – what they call the writer’s block. By now I had no energy or intention to do anything else.

So what do I do now? I take my phone, plug in my earphones and go for a walk. Feeling slightly better, I just sit and doodle. Suddenly, the new tangle WayBop that I have been trying to learn seems to come to me out of nowhere. Finally I get it right. Pleased, I practice a few more times.

Well, it’s almost 10 pm now, and it doesn’t seem to be such a bad day after all. Like they say, “Don’t let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life”

Have a great weekend everyone! 🙂

  1. Is Mario Puzo’s book about the Borgias? I once tried to read the Godfather novel, but never got to the end of Chapter 1 because the movie was just perfect. 😉 I may be interested in reading the Family some day…
