Today’s piece of Zentangle Art is quite different from what I generally do. Taking inspiration from one of the chapters from One Zentangle A Day book, I was tempted to use water colors instead of a plain base.
So, instead of drawing strings with a pencil, I divided the drawing area with water colors. I am actually a newbie with paint/watercolors, but still I went ahead. It did not turn out exactly the way I wanted it to, but since I was to draw over it, I felt it was good enough. This is what it looked like:
After the colours dried, using a Sakura Pigma Micron 08 pen, I proceeded to draw the tangles. I specifically chose these tangles which had a darker element. This is how the finished piece looks like –
Tangles used – Fe Ba, Striping and Pokeleaf
I would be definitely experimenting more with this technique going forward. Do let me know your thoughts, views, suggestions on the same in the comments below.
Have a great day!
