Time Saving Tips for Bloggers
Blogging can be a time consuming activity. Many a times, I wonder why it has taken me two hours for a blog post when it could have taken me lesser. Today, I did some planning and organizing which I would like to share with you all –
1. Make a list
Before you sit to start to work on your blog, grab a notebook and pen and make a list of what you exactly want to be done in the next X hours. This will help you stay focused on the tasks at hand.
2. Allocate specific time for each task
Against each task on your list, write down the amount of time you think it should take or you should give for it. As far as possible, stick to it. It is very easy to get distracted and lose track of time when you are on the internet. This will help you stay on track.
Organize all your frequently used links/bookmarks on your browser such that you can easily access them without wasting much time. Also clear your desktop screen and organize your blogging folder and clear out documents, files, images etc that you do not really need.
In case your posts involve reviews, or if you’re using any repetitive format, you can create templates. It saves a lot of time when writing reviews and also gives consistent format across posts.
5. Avoid Social Media when you’re writing
No! Don’t get me wrong. Telling bloggers to stay away from social media is like asking fish to stay out of water. What I am saying is that only when you are writing, if you don’t need to refer to social media, close all your Facebook and Twitter tabs on your browser and whatever else you think may distract you. Trust me, it will save you a lot of time.
